sorry to hear that you were affected and for sure this must have been an upsetting event for you.
Nevertheless don't confuse the powers of security or even the police.
The police is there to uphold the law but has no powers to rectify the short commings of the organisers. Same for security, they are there to look after the event but in the end still have the objective of the organisers in mind who pay their wages. And from what I know were hopelessly understaffed.
In hindsight the only people who are to blame are the organisers, trying to squeeze an event that attracts a million plus ppl into an
enclosed space barely able to hold 250,000 and the officials who gave their stamps onto the permissions, just being keen on promoting the city at all cost, in this case the cost of lives. That happens when greed and profit seeking takes over, Berlin was the only place for the parade and nothing would have happened there as it was an open space, ppl could come and leave as they pleased.
Sad to see such a traditional event and great forum for electronic music dissappear under such circumstances.
