Having hard time tunning in from work?

Awesome! Just what I wanted! Except it doesn't seem to be working...there's nothing on that page but an AH logo...

on my mac the screens blank
i dont think ive installed wmp or flip4mac since i reinstalled though so that might be the cause

That would be an ActiveX control so would not be visible in browsers such as Firefox but should work fine in Internet Explorer.

IMO the best way to do it is to use flash, cause most computers have flash

couldnt you use a generic streaming flash player linked to the m3u playlist??
it would think its streaming an mp3 but it would continuously play the station
unless it wouldnt handle the m3u the same as it does mp3?

java applet might work too, maybe even better, as embedded devices usually can play that too.

I'll be fine with java as long as it isnt laggy and bloated and resource hogging, like many applets are

Flash is unoticeable...I can load all these afterhours pages with flash on them and nothing will happen...I load 1 java applet and my computer locks up and @#%^#

I thing I know of a possible solution to the web based player! Maybe Silverlight can do it? I'll post back later and let you know Just setting up a VPC so I can mess with it.

I was searching more on it and i found this

Flash does not support packet based streaming of mp3 from the shoutcast server, consequently the mp3 accumulates in RAM and on the user's hard drive. Flash treats the mp3 as a large file download instead of discarding the packets as they load, which is how a player like WinAmp handles shoutcast streams. Accumulating in RAM is not desireable because eventually the mp3 can use up too much RAM causing problems for the end user's computer.
